Join us to celebrate the life and work of Professor Donald ‘Don’ Perkins CBE FRS (1925 – 2022), who during his extensive and prolific career played a key role in the development of particle physics research since the 1940’s when the electron, proton and neutron were the only known fundamental particles to the discovery of the Higgs boson in the early 2000’s.

This free event hopes to reunite old colleagues, alumni, current researchers and general public interested in particle physics and the history behind current research in fields as diverse as medicine, cancer research, cosmic rays, climate science, neutrons, and more.

Please book your place soon, following the main (free) event, we will host an optional dinner at Balliol College for guests with fellows and speakers, to continue with the conversation and networking. This portion of the event has a cost of £85 per person.

If you are coming to Oxford with a guest, and would like them to join you for dinner only, this can be arranged.

Please note the deadline for dinner registration is Friday March 1st at 16.00 pm.

We have also reserved a few rooms at St Anne’s College in case any of you would like to stay before or after the event. Costs for accommodation are covered by each guest individually. Of course, guests are free to book accommodation wherever they prefer.
